Beer Drinking In Germany

Guten Tag from Germany!

I hope this finds you all well and happy, wherever you may be in this amazing, exciting, BIG world of ours.

As you may have guessed already, I am currently in Germany having the time of my life, and coincidently, I also happen to be crossing more exciting goals off my travel bucket list. You gotta love the joys and wonders of travelling!

So in typical Aussie fashion, I have a hankering to do some beer drinking and true to my desires, I have already found an authentic German Bier Garden here in Friedburg and have sampled the local beer de jour – and it was sooooo damn good.

Now, I must be honest with you all: this first beer was a smaller one and had less alcohol than normal (shameful in Germany, I know), but in all fairness, I was still a bit jet lagged after 40+ hours in transit and I hadn’t eaten pretty much all day

*Sidenote: I have discovered that my stomach shrinks and my appetite slows down when I travel, most likely due to nerves. I’m hoping this isn’t permanent. In any case, I figured dissolving into a drunken hot mess would not be a good idea...

Regardless, I still found myself drinking a beer from a stein in a traditional German bier garden; complete with German food, live accordion music, and gorgeous German girls who could carry eight steins at a time. Now, that's some seriously impressive shiz.

I have to give it the Germans; they sure do know their bier - it was one of the sweetest drops I've ever tasted. Now I can see why Oktoberfest is such a huge success...

Auf Wiedersehen!
